* check all elements, not just the first one
* check all second derivatives (including cross ones)
* add tests for all of that

Before, the function was constructing a mesh that had
an extra vertex when the curve was closed. This was inconcistent
with the group's `vertex_indices`.

Also test ChainedDiscretizationConnection, because it doesn't
look like it is being tested.
