    @mattwala The build that bombed here ran on Appletini, I assume by accident. It got surprisingly far--it only ended up missing Maxima.

    Ideally, maxima would also be in conda or conda-forge, but it's not :(

    (also, #3 (closed) would prevent us from running it on appletini anyway right now)

    What do we do about it?

    1. install maxima on appletini (should be in homebrew)
    2. don't test maxima with conda (=removing pexpect from the dependencies)

    I am leaning towards option 1...

    Never mind. This will take more than a moment. The OS X maxima interop is more broken than just the shutdown bug. (Possibly) among other things, I may be running into this issue: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/204815/terminal-does-not-accept-pasted-or-typed-lines-of-more-than-1024-characters
