Kernel printing may fail with "inconsistent nesting"

Now that kernel printing tries to order its for loops, printing may fail if no consistent ordering is found.

variant_2 of test_convolution in test_apps is reportedly an example of this behavior.

IMO, kernel printing should never fail.
